Yukon police, firefighters hosting game for 9-year-old boy recovering from accident


YUKON, Okla. – It has been less than two months since a Yukon third-grader was pinned between an SUV and a wall, fighting for his life.

Now, the district attorney has filed DUI charges against the driver.

Since the accident, 9-year-old Hunter Bell has survived multiple surgeries and is currently in physical therapy.

Now, public safety officials are coming together to raise money for Hunter’s medical expenses with a special event.

The basketball game will be held on Thursday night,  called ‘Hoops for Hunter.’

“It’s going to be kind of fun. Like the Thunder, going out on the court when the Thunder play, it’s going to be a packed crowd,” said Cole Kroutil, a Yukon firefighter.

Yukon police officers and the firefighters will go head-to-head on the basketball court, raising money for Hunter Bell and his family.

“I’m feeling really good,” said Hunter Bell.
